Hello families!
Our school is participating in a very special community service program to raise funds for the American Heart Association. Kids Heart Challenge is a nationwide event that helps students learn about the benefits of regular physical activity and heart health while raising funds to fight heart disease and stroke.
The Kids Heart Challenge is a fun and effective way to teach heart-healthy living. It emphasizes the importance of physical activity as our children do something they enjoy — jumping rope!
The money our school raises will fund potentially lifesaving research and will support programs that help people in our community and our school can also earn certificates to purchase Physical Education Equipment-- based on the amount of funds that we raise-- to support our PE Program!!
Please know there is no obligation to raise funds, it is voluntary. Every child is jumping rope during P.E. the week of February 22nd- February 28th , regardless of whether or not they raise funds.
The envelopes can be returned and placed in my box in the main office which will be available before and after school, or given to the classroom teacher. Checks need to be made out to “The American Heart Association”. Please return all donations on or before Wednesday,
March 2nd.
Your child can also create their own webpage and send out e-mails to friends and family members (people can donate right on-line!). Visit heart.org/KHC, to create your website or follow the attached instructions. Be sure to print out the report from the “reports” tab and place it in the envelope.
An extra incentive we have here at Seth Woodard is a competition between classes to see which class can raise the most money. The class that wins gets to have a pizza party sometime during March. We are very excited about this opportunity to help a great cause and hope that your child will enjoy the activities. If you have any questions please let me know.
Sincerely,
Doug Semler
